Royal bliss and other quirks

Ebifulumiziddwa: 07.12.2020

Here, the aging professor tells his protege the story of his deceased wife, who used to fart in her sleep. He wonders why he misses such things about her the most. The imperfections of his wife, of which only he knew, made her his wife. This scene is from the movie Good Will Hunting, where Sean the psychologist takes the highly gifted but somewhat violent Will under his wing. It's one of my favorite scenes in the film because it captures the essence of love and togetherness for me.

When I watch my beloved watching a third-rate cheesy movie, I see her true beauty. It's not about this makeshift film, the plot and ending of which can be guessed from the first scene. There's the prince from a rich family and the gossip journalist who sneaks into the palace disguised as a nanny. This overly sweet romance also includes the evil rival who wants the prince for herself and sabotages the budding love between the nanny and the prince. Some cold-blooded, blue-blooded supporting actors are also part of the party, and luckily the warm-hearted butler is not missing, who knows how to comfort the desperate future princess.

Friends and enemies are determined, the threat is known, and in the end, oh surprise, the prince and the nanny get together, who is not only beautiful but also has a big heart for animals and children. The villains are punished, and social order is restored.

But the main role in this spectacle is played by my princess, and the magic only happens when I watch her happily observing the royal spectacle with a little smile on her lips. And if I even sacrifice my chest as a pillow for her, her happiness seems to be perfect, and I can even bear the not very high-quality royal dialogues, like the bravest knight with an arrow in his thigh. And I wonder how the actors manage not to burst into loud laughter with this text.

Of course, she has also known since the first scene that the movie will end with a happy ending.

This simple story gives shape to her dreams and hopes. The challenges of our everyday life are so convoluted that there isn't always a clearly recognizable evil stepmother, and it's hard to see a happy ending.

And so, these cheesy movies also open my heart to my favorite person when I see how relaxed her head rests on my chest and her face is filled with a peaceful smile. I make every effort not to comment on the quality of the film and suppress the occasional fart for hours.

I know that we both are not perfect, but we are perfect for each other. I know her quirks and she knows my weaknesses. Imperfections are what make life. And God forbid I reveal another one of her quirks and secrets in my blog.
