I made plans with Marina to walk along the Singapore River on Saturday, so that I can show her the Merlion Park and the typical view of the skyline. However, the weather initially spoiled our plans. In other words, it was pouring rain. But that's completely normal here in Singapore. They don't have the 'normal' rain that we're used to in Germany.
I took advantage of a short break in the rain to go to the MRT station and indulge in one of my hobbies:

I met up with Tracey at a coffee shop. We found a really nice spot!
Toby's Estate
And while we were enjoying our coffee, the rain actually stopped completely, so I met up with Marina by the river.
Old fisherman huts in front of modern skyscrapers Today I was the 'tour guide' and when we arrived at the Merlion Park or Esplanade Drive, the two of us tourists took plenty of time to take photos from various angles :-) I'm not even sure anymore if I've posted a picture of Marina Bay Sands in daylight before?Marina Bay Sands during the day Another landmark of Singapore - the Merlion Afterwards, we strolled further into the city center, passing by some important and/or beautiful buildings. The arts house at the old parliamentSt. Andrew's Cathedral To conclude our 'tourist day', we met up with Su Jun and Bernice and spent an evening in Singapore typical for locals. Unfortunately, the weather spoiled our plans again in the evening. The original plan was to have a relaxed time by the river, drinking a bottle of wine together (because alcohol is expensive in bars and clubs), and then go to a club. But because it was raining heavily again, we had to find a covered spot to sit, which turned out to be quite difficult. Nevertheless, it was a very, very successful evening and once again we had no hurry to go home ;-)Me, Bernice, Su Jun & Marina
Oh, and by the way: clown costumes are the absolute Halloween hit in Singapore.
