Koh Samui

Hello,

When we left the ferry and entered the island of Koh Samui, we went straight to the next scooter rental place. From there, we packed everything and went to the bungalow, which was about 20 km away and we had booked for the next 3 nights. The bungalow was located directly on the beautiful Lamai Beach. We enjoyed lunch on our sun terrace before heading to the next beach, located in a beautiful bay. Unfortunately, we had to stop swimming early because a storm was approaching, so we quickly and dryly fled to our bungalow. In the evening, we visited the big city with the airport, where we ate at small stands. From high above the city, we saw the illuminated Khao Hua Jook Temple, which we visited after a very steep ascent and enjoyed the view over the city and the airport. In the evening, we sat on the terrace with a self-made XXL cocktail and then fell tired into bed after a exhausting day. We spent the second day on the island exploring sights, such as the Magic Garden located in the jungle and adventurous roads. When it started to drizzle, we decided to take a break at a market, which turned out to be a good decision, as a long heavy rain followed. The next stop was a big waterfall, in which Julia even bathed. However, on the way to the southern beaches, we were caught in the rain again and had to wait for shelter. Before sunset, we stopped at a beach bar and had a delicious cocktail. The plan for the next day was to visit the west and north side of the island with its many spectacular temples and sights. In the afternoon, hunger took over and we stopped with a papaya salad and Massaman chicken and rice. We then had an adventurous ride into the heart of the island, through rough terrain with deep grooves, muddy and partially flooded paths. After a tiring hike through the jungle, we reached a waterfall. After that, we continued as before, sometimes Julia had to get off the scooter and walk in order to make progress. Upon reaching the summit, the Pra Buddha Teepangkorn, we were rewarded for our efforts with a great view over the island. However, the subsequent descent was quite challenging due to the extreme paths and inclines. As a crowning finish to the hardships of the day, we treated ourselves to our first Thai massage. It lasted about 45 minutes and was not painful but very relaxing. Today we are already continuing to the next island, Koh Phangan. See you later,

Malia
