That's just what I call Finger in Po, Mexico :-P - as Mickie Krause aptly put it:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HtwxklPfku0
Arriving in Cancun, we first settled into our luxurious accommodation...
... and then enjoyed all the (dis)comforts of the Western world and spent the rainy day with internet, cinema, and food court in a shopping mall.
The next day we took the bus to Tulum. There we stayed in an artist's house - Tinasahouse Tulum, an open space project for artists from the region with an Airbnb room - ...
...and saved some money by having spaghetti with tomato sauce for two days - after too many burritos and nachos in the first three days - and took a trip to the Maya ruins of Tulum...
...a coral reef.
...and the Grand Cenote (a cenote is a limestone hole filled with fresh water).
The conclusion of our short intermezzo with the Yucatan Peninsula was two days in Bacalar, on the Lake of the 7 Colors.
There is not much here except the lake, but it feels like the real Mexico. More dogs than people and the best empanadas in the world.
...and made many new friends
Now we're heading to Belize, where we've decided to skip one of the highlights. So the motto for the next few days will be "Courage to leave gaps".
Goodbye friends and kisses from Mexico
