On the long journey from Valencia to Córdoba through endless olive plantations, we listened to a lot of music, solved pillow and other puzzles, and dined in an authentic restaurant along the way. The menu was nowhere to be found, and Regula was challenged to understand the long list of first courses, second courses, and desserts!
Luckily, the hostess had time for us, because the Spaniards only arrived after we had finished eating - around 2:30 pm ;-)
Then we planned to spend a night in a mountain village. On a Thursday in March, we were the only tourists. Luckily, the hotel room was more like a small apartment with a kitchenette, because the restaurant was closed. And in the village store, we found everything we needed! They even opened just for us for breakfast!
Then we went up to the castle in drizzling rain. It wasn't open, but there was still plenty to ask and tell. We are becoming experts on Spanish history.
