Our first real trip, apart from the shopping center, goes to the Sirao Garden with the other Germans from CFA. Just outside of Cebu - about 50 minutes from CFA. We drive a typical bumpy route in the CFA truck, Avi falls asleep despite the noise and potholes. A real professional!
The garden itself is smaller but more crowded than expected. It feels like we are the only European group. The attraction is flooded with Koreans and Taiwanese. But no matter - we enjoy the fresh air at altitude. There are a lot of beautiful photo spots and the “three, two, one, click” is almost omnipresent.
A nice breeze blows around our noses and if you're in the shade it's really pleasant. A nice surprise is our Papyrus plant, whose descendants are common in the whole family - AFRO in the wild. We have to smile a little about the family hierarchy; something like that would no longer exist in a German institution. This and a few other things show the strong Catholic character of this country.
As we leave and have to wait a while for our transport service from CFA, the stallholders want to sell us jewelry, bananas, coconuts and other things. Finally they rounded up a few motorcycles including drivers because they wanted to drive us home. Just as we made it clear to them that our car service was on the way, it turned the corner.
