Actually, we wanted to start earlier, but a late Philip and the late arrival of our ordered bread rolls made it 10 o'clock again. Destination Paris, the navigation says arrival at 2 o'clock. Let's push through. The older the children, the more relaxed the car journey. Mostly...
We get through quite well with some short traffic jams. No lunch break, just a quick pee and onwards. The sandwiches were enough to satisfy our hunger. Chaos pure in Paris. Construction sites everywhere, changing lanes without signaling, honking, shouting. The French are totally relaxed in traffic. The campsite is quite central, relatively large and very clean. We settle in and cook lunch at 3 o'clock.
The plan is 'Eichelturm' as Jule said so nicely... We decide to get the bikes ready. The Sonntag family followed with borrowed bikes.
In typical Dresden fashion, we drive on the wrong side or on the sidewalk. We are scolded in French a few times, but we don't let it deter us, we have to go to the Eiffel Tower. By the way, the bike construction of Jules Bike with connecting rod on Papa's bike is the highlight here. Apparently, no one has ever seen it before..
After 20 minutes, the first dropouts. Olli has had enough. Sundays stay behind. We drive through the city to the tower. Quite big thing. The bikes are securely locked and the children ask for ice cream. Let's go, a round of ice cream for everyone. Later, we meet Sundays again. At the Eiffel Tower, there are a few obligatory photos, repeated meals for the kids, and then back. We'll be back tomorrow.
It was late. Nevertheless, everyone had to take a shower. Finally, peace in the caravan at eleven. Tomorrow we will explore the city in a little more detail.
