5 days in the jungle - simple accommodation, but all the more adventure 😁, or so they said... With our guide we drive south in a taxi for almost two hours, from the town of Nauta we go 2 hours up the Amazon and then another 1 hour into a tributary.
We have a room with a private bathroom - very basic, but at least with mosquito nets on the beds.
Our guide seems to be trying hard, the cook conjures up big portions of veggies for us every day. But after two days of trips into the jungle, first by boat, then on foot, we are overheated. Our bodies are burning, they are going crazy, the air is stagnant and even the warm shower doesn't help. Unfortunately, the corrugated iron hut is in the blazing sun and there aren't even fans. No way 🙉
Unfortunately, the planned night hike is no longer possible (to have tarantulas sit on your head). We saw a few monkeys in the trees, river dolphins briefly emerged from the Anazon waters, but there weren't many other animals to see, such as snakes or crocodiles. In the wild, you might need more time and a bit of luck... As vegetarians, we skipped the Pyrania fishing anyway.
After 4 days we stop and are so happy to be out of the jungle again! The only thing that helps is cooling down in the hotel with AC and rooftop pool - even 28 degrees in the room is enough to refresh us, otherwise we would have gotten hypothermia again! 😆
