From Zagreb, I should slowly head towards the Mediterranean coast to escape the colder climate. Today, I wanted to reach Slunj in a longer stage, about 30 km north of the famous Plitvice Lakes. Thanks to my genius navigation skills, the route sometimes went through completely uninhabited areas and gravel roads near Bosnia. I rarely felt so happy about an asphalt road in 'Vrgin Most'. According to Tonko, my Croatian friend and former office mate, there are more wolves and bears in the area than people. But the picturesque village of Slunj, where I finally arrived at dusk, made up for it all!
