Which is actually not true. The Ruhrtalradweg is already history.

Yesterday we decided to cycle from Essen to Münster, which we did today. From Essen along the Rhein-Herne-Kanal and then on to the Dortmund-Ems-Kanal to Münster. We had left the Ruhr area behind halfway and the rest went through the botany always along the canal. It became about 100 km.

Münster, the city of cyclists and students. Certainly not as lively as at other times, but still quite lively?
