As announced earlier, we spent some time on the Coromandel Peninsula. Our first stop was at Cathedral Cove, a place where you can admire volcanic caves and rock formations.
But it wasn't just the rocks that left a lasting impression on us, but more so the unexpected inhabitant of a cave, into which one might have better not stuck their head.
Today we continued with an absolute must-do in New Zealand: visiting one of the original filming locations of the Hobbit movies, the Shire. Whether you're a Lord of the Rings fan or not, this tour is a must for every visitor. It may not be cheap at $79 per person, but it's definitely worth every cent. The attention to detail and love that went into this set is hard to put into words, so we'll let the pictures speak for themselves.
By the way, the tour also includes a free drink at the Green Dragon - in our case, a non-alcoholic ginger beer.
By the way: The moon is currently shining so brightly here that you can cast a shadow even at night! Unfortunately, a thick layer of clouds keeps blocking the view.
