Arrived, felt comfortable, noticed the heat, home-sickness
It's crazy that the loons here play ice hockey in eternal summer. Equally crazy is that the baseball stadium resembles a huge circus tent, but is cooled down to a clean 22°C. The Bucs football stadium looks awesome from the outside.
Apart from these oddities, it was worth it. We had a nice Airbnb in the northeast of Tampa, 10 minutes walk from Heights Public Market. Downtown itself is not really worth it, mainly consists of financial buildings. But along the river there is a nice promenade - highlight - unless it's 37°C. For eating and drinking, Ybor City is taken care of. Not quite my world, I liked Heights Public Market better.
Saint Petersburg is structured in a similar way. At the water, a busy street and a stadium.
Apart from the heat and the sports teams, I really liked it here, I might stop by again on the way back.
