Facts about the road trip

We were on the road for 76 days and spent $9620 during that time.

During this time, we drove 16,164 km.

We refueled Maxi with $2141 of diesel fuel. We stopped at 44 different gas stations.

$726 went towards repairs for Maxi.

During the 76 days, we slept in 52 different accommodations and paid $2120 for them. We stayed at a hostel for 5 nights, an apartment for 3 nights, and went camping for 68 nights (1 1/2 nights in the car and 66 1/2 nights in a tent). To keep these costs as low as possible, we often slept at free parking lots (without toilet, water, etc.).

The remaining $6085 was spent on groceries, water, alcohol, excursions, admission fees, toilet paper, detergent, and motor oil. Our two highlights, a helicopter tour and diving at Ningaloo Reef, are also included.

We kept our expenses as low as possible, because Maxi is a fuel-efficient vehicle. And we're from Swabia, which means we always shop for bargains and save wherever possible. 😉😎

It could have been even cheaper, but since it's our honeymoon, we made it as nice as possible. And until this point (more than 9 months), we can't imagine a better honeymoon.
