Finally rested!
After our rich breakfast, we spontaneously set off to nearby 'Rosslyn Chapel'. Became famous as a filming location in 'The Da Vinci Code'.
Since entrance without pre-booked tickets was not possible, we sneaked up for the desired photo from the outside. It also worked and was free.
After this short trip, we drove to Dunfermline.
A beautiful small town with a remarkable old town and an ancient venerable Abbey, where some Scottish kings are buried.👑
During our city tour, a waterproof sunglasses would have been the right accessory. Sunshine alternated with rain showers. Fortunately, there were enough dense trees that could provide dry areas.
Nevertheless, we really liked Dunfermline, by the way the birthplace of our old friend Ian Anderson🎼. And, above all, it was not as crowded as Edinburgh yesterday. We went for a snack at Bob & Berts before walking back to the car.
The 20-minute drive back to the hotel was quickly done and this time we had dinner at the attached restaurant.
Tomorrow morning we are heading north to the Highlands. On the way, we will stop again at the North Sea coast in Stonehaven, including Dunnottar Castle, and possibly also visit Balmoral Castle. 😉
Stay tuned!
