After a night of continuous rain and drizzle in the morning, the rain slowly stopped around 9:30 AM. Quickly changed into hiking gear, and by 10 AM we set off. After about an hour's drive, very leisurely through the many curves, we arrived at the Sellajoch. Our introductory route: a circumnavigation of Langkofel. We took the lift to the Langkofelscharte. A new experience: a standing gondola for 2 people. The two of us barely fit inside while standing upright, and we had to jump on and off during the ride. After 20 minutes, we reached an altitude of about 2600m with a temperature of 6 degrees. We continued over scree, crossed mountain streams, and passed under rock overhangs, where we received a free shower from above. A stop for a giant schnitzel for 2 provided the necessary energy for the remaining journey, and the sun even shone from 2:30 PM onwards. After about 9 km, we returned to the car and made our way back to the inn in sunny weather.
