Hiking tour (19.04.-21.04.)
On Monday, we started with half of the study group and our large hiking backpacks. The aim was to make a three-day hiking tour in the area.
The first stage mainly led us over asphalt roads, along the fjord and past the airport to a lake where we stayed overnight. We covered 23 kilometers. In the evening, we knitted by the fire and slept under the open sky. Since warm temperatures were expected, I brought my spring sleeping bag. However, it was quite cold at 2 degrees Celsius at night. The next morning, we continued hiking. We followed a power line and arrived at a lake where some of us went swimming.
Later, we were in the forest behind the university. The original plan was to spend another night outdoors. But since the shower and my own bed were only 6 kilometers away, we decided to walk back the whole way. That suited me well because it was Sara's birthday and I could surprise her. We arrived home one day earlier than planned after covering 20 kilometers. In the evening, we sat down together and celebrated a little.
Swimming test
On Wednesday, we had our swimming test, which turned out to be much easier than usual. After all, we couldn't train because the swimming pool was closed. So we only had to keep ourselves above the water for 3 minutes, swim 50 meters, and do a few other exercises, and then everyone passed.
Bike tour to the southernmost point of Norway (22.04.-24.04.2021)
On Thursday, we started the next trip. We planned a bike tour to the southernmost point of Norway in groups of four. The route led from Kristiansand to Lindesnes Fyr (lighthouse) and back.
First stage:
On the first day, the three of us (one had knee pain and stayed at home) rode 95 km with incredibly many mountains. There was actually no flat route. We hopped from one mountain to the next and slept on a beach on the island of Underoy, where the other three groups joined us in the evening.
Second stage:
On the second day, we cycled 25 km to Lindesnes Fyr, had a small snack break there, and met the other groups again.
Then we cycled the 25 km back and continued towards Kristiansand. In Mandal, we took an ice cream break and then decided to keep going. The other groups had planned to sleep on the beach in Mandal, even though it's not allowed. But since we arrived in Mandal a while earlier, we drove to the recreation area Selvåg and stayed there. Today, we cycled a total of 83 km.
Third stage:
On the last day of our bike tour to the South Cape, we went back to Kristiansand, covering 65 km over hills. Our group reached Kristiansand first. I had a nice group that was very concerned about everyone's well-being.
On Sunday, we played beach volleyball and started a crazy spontaneous action. More about that in the next post.
Yours, Maike :D
