Do you remember - a week ago it was beautiful sunshine!
That prompted us to spontaneously plan a hiking day again. Due to our late start, we didn't have the optimal connection, but we arrived near Schlangenbad by bus, left uphill, visited an old ice cellar, and then we hiked through the Taunus classic forest for a while. A beautiful forest, now in spring, where the leaves are still light green and stand out nicely from the brown of the ground and the trunks. Lots of uphill and downhill, of course more downhill than uphill. Then a valley with a small river, a flock of sheep surrounded by an electric fence (hopefully it protects against wolves...)
Towards the end of the tour, we reach the Rhine Valley again, above Eltville, then past the old castle tower of Kiedrich and finally the descent of 2 km down to Erbach to the train station.
For us, the approximately 250 meters downhill are definitely more tiring than the uphill last week! So we sit a bit tired at the train station. It's a shame that we can't spend the waiting time in a nice wine bar with Rheingau wine at the moment...
