Hello everyone!
Once again, we had a wonderful extended weekend with our friends Roman & Tiziana. This time, the destination was Moléson-sur-Gruyères in the canton of Fribourg. We left on Thursday around noon, stopped to buy groceries for the upcoming days, and arrived at our accommodation around 3:30 pm. We were all thrilled once again! The little house was very cute, modern on the inside, with chalet charm on the outside, and from the hot tub, we could enjoy a fantastic view. In the same valley where our chalet was located, we discovered a small amusement park. There were inflatable castles (for children), a toboggan run, and something called 'Mountain Kart'. Since the weather forecast for the upcoming days was pretty bad, we decided to go again right away. At first, I wasn't overly motivated, but the others convinced me, for which I was later really grateful! We started with the Mountain Karts. It was incredibly fun! Too bad the track was so short... At the beginning, you sit in the kart and then get pulled up the slope by a kind of ski lift. Once at the top, we all gathered and off we went! We went down over the ground and meadow, sometimes zigzagging around smaller obstacles, and no one could refrain from laughing. After only two to three minutes, the fun was over. We returned the karts and made our way to the toboggan run. This one was also a bit short. We wondered if maybe the whole park was only designed for children? In any case, we had a lot of fun and it was good to be outside in the fresh air. After the toboggan run, we were considering going to the bouncy castle. It was a whole bouncy castle landscape and looked soooo tempting 🙂
We stood there for a while and discussed whether we could do it or not (at that time, there were no kids in the bouncy castles yet). However, when a few children entered the bouncy castle landscape, we realized that we were probably too old for that 🙂. We made our way back to the chalet and jumped right into the hot tub. We sat there for a while, enjoying some snacks, and chatting away. Since everyone was pretty exhausted from the rest of the week, we went to bed very early. The next day, everyone woke up early and since it wasn't raining yet, we decided to go for a little hike. We took a cute rail-guided train to a branch line. There, we could either get off or continue to the next station - of course, we went all the way to the top. We took a gondola for the second part of the route, which had huge windows and offered a great panorama. But the best was yet to come: at the top of the mountain, there was a restaurant with an incredible observation platform! We climbed the stairs and enjoyed the view. Then we started! First, we went to the signposts. We had already chosen a route, but we don't think we actually took it 🙂 In the end, we just started walking towards the 'Talstation' (valley station). We found ourselves in the middle of a mountain hiking trail, going steeply downhill and over rocks and stones. In total, we were on the trail for about 2.5 hours and of course, we didn't entirely escape the predicted weather. We were probably halfway through the trail when it started to rain lightly. Luckily, it stayed just a light shower, which cleared up a few minutes later. When we reached the valley station, we were exhausted - the trail was really challenging! Back at the accommodation, we rewarded ourselves with a raclette, which tasted even better after the hike! It started raining again and apparently, it wouldn't stop today... Then came the idea: Let's go back to the hot tub! Two spots were more or less covered, and we brought an umbrella for the other two. It was really funny! Using an umbrella in the hot tub! Of course, a little rain wouldn't have been a problem, but the rain was really cold and there was a strong wind. Later, we watched some TV, lounged around in the living room, and went to bed early again.
On Saturday, we went shopping again and had another raclette. In the afternoon, we were incredibly lucky because the rain stopped! Of course, we immediately jumped back into the pool, equipped with music speakers and a few cocktails. We actually stayed there until it got dark. At around 10 pm, we found out that we had to check out at 10 am on Sunday. In principle, this would have been doable, but we actually wanted to sleep in and still had a lot of packing to do. On Sunday, our day started at 8 am and we actually managed to finish 15 minutes earlier - including having breakfast 🙂
Then, unfortunately, the extended weekend was already over and we returned home.
So, that's it from us again 🙂 Hopefully, see you soon!
