Slept one night over the disappointment in Mui Ne, took the bus to Nha Trang, which is another 4 hours away.
We knew from the beginning that Nha Trang was only meant to serve us as a means to an end, so that we didn't have to drive the entire distance from Mui Ne to Hoi An.
Nha Trang is notorious as a tourist hot spot and meeting point for Russian tourists.
We would like to dispel prejudices here, but we can't. This completely tourism-oriented city shocked us. One construction site after another, just to be able to transport more tourists to all-inclusive bunkers. Vietnamese people speak to you in Russian everywhere, and there are even menus in Russian.
So what, we wanted to continue anyway after one night.
We tried to make the most of Nha Trang and visited the large white Buddha at the Long Son Pagoda overlooking the city. We also went to the Ponagar Cham Towers. Beautiful and impressive that they have been standing there since the 8th century.
We spent the rest of the afternoon and evening on the beach until our night train headed to Hoi An.
Oh Hoi An, how much I was looking forward to you. You are supposed to be a cute, small, colorful town with lots of lanterns in the streets. We are curious...
