Yesterday we got to know another part of the family. We took the BART Metro to the Walnut Creek Station. There we met Renate. Together we went on to Ryan and Mona. They were also waiting for us with Chris and the dog Teddy. We were warmly welcomed. We realized how much we miss home-cooked food that evening. Time flew by with funny and exciting conversations and the evening ended too quickly.
A friend of the family, who also spent the evening with us, kindly took us to the next Metro station.
Today we had a relaxed day. We had brunch at Sears Fine Food. Since our arrival in America, we wanted to eat pancakes. Like pancakes but a bit thicker. We liked it best with butter, the syrup was too sweet. Then we started our exploration. The City Hall resembles the Capitol in Washington D.C., but with more golden decorations. We then went to the Painted Ladies. To be honest, a visit to them is not worth it. Six colorful houses standing next to each other can be found on every corner of the city. Lastly, we made our way to Japan Town. Unfortunately, we were a little disappointed here as well.
Our highlight today: dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. According to the internet and information at the reception, we were supposed to wait about 20 minutes to get a table. However, after just 5-10 minutes, we were sitting at our table with the menu in hand. We decided on pasta with cheese sauce and a macaroni cheeseburger. The burger was juicy and had a very unique taste. The cheese sauce on the pasta was excellently seasoned, but the pasta itself was unfortunately cold. And finally, we bought a piece of cheesecake, which we will have as dessert at the hotel.
