Today, with heavy hearts, we left our truly amazing accommodation in Balos and continued on to Chania. The disappointment didn't last long, as Chania competes with Rethimnon for the title of the most beautiful city in Crete.
The most beautiful city in Crete
Once we arrived, we, as usual, looked for a place to stay. Finding parking this time was easier than expected. We quickly found a spot. While our original plan was to stay at a different guesthouse, on our way through the alleys, we discovered the 'Madonna Studios' guesthouse. Located in the beautiful old town, it looked very inviting. As always, there was a nice room available for us, which we immediately settled into. Our incredibly friendly hostess greeted us with homemade cookies and cake, as well as freshly squeezed orange juice. It couldn't get any better!
There isn't much to write about here, we spent the day exploring the beautiful Chania with its charming old town and amazing harbor, which invites you to stay. The pictures speak for themselves!
During the day, we went shopping and bought tickets for the bus to the Samaria Gorge at the bus station for the next day. That was our next destination!
As for the most beautiful city in Crete, Chania had clearly won! This city enchanted us from the start with its charm.
