Puerto Viejo > Sarapiqui (23rd & 24th April 2022)

បោះពុម្ពផ្សាយ: 24.04.2022

Yesterday was our last day in Puerto Viejo de Limón in the Caribbean. By now, we had grown fond of our little house (Did I mention? We ended up upgrading to a better room category...the mold situation was a bit too much for a whole week when looked at in detail and during the day 😐), we personally knew 'our' waiter at the restaurant next door, and the staff at the hotel bar had a lot of fun with Sebastian. But as they say, you should leave when it's best and besides, we want to experience something new. 😉

So one last time at Sol del Caribe in the evening, where we were surprised by our first heavy tropical rain. When it rains here, it really pours.

The next morning, we received our car and set off for Sarapiqui. The drive takes about 3.5 hours, and upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed and immediately went on a search for frogs, as there are supposed to be a lot of them here. Unfortunately, we didn't see any frogs at first, but in the first 10 minutes, I got bitten 20 times by mosquitoes and immediately took a bath in 'Off' insect repellent. Frank hates insect repellent spray and sends me outside right away. 😂 However, Sebastian also wants to take an 'Off' bath. He gets one. Afterward, we stroll to the pool and are chased back to our accommodation by a tropical downpour.

In pouring rain, an hour later, we rush to the restaurant. And here's one good thing about the rain: when it stops raining, all the beautiful frogs come out. I see my first red-eyed leaf frog and I'm totally in love 😍 With headlamps, Sebastian and I wander around the frog pond in the darkness and discover countless toads and smaller frogs at the pond.

For dinner, we treat ourselves to something light: a pizza with a one-meter diameter - haha. It was delicious.

Tomorrow, we have a boat tour with Oasis Tours, and the day after, we'll go rafting with Green Rivers. Today, we visited the Green Rivers office. We are slowly entering the low season, so we will have the raft and guide to ourselves. Accompanied by a safety kayak, we will head out onto the river. We are excited and will report back.

Hy, das hört sich alles interessant und auch "aufregend" an! Dann für alle anstehenden Aktivitäten viel Spass und Unterhaltung, Hauptsache die Moskitos sind nicht dabei! Liebe Grüße
