Kaiaua Boat Club

Yesterday evening, the workshop sent us an SMS informing us that we can come today and the repairs will be completed by Friday. So we will drive to the workshop in Ngatea around 9:30 a.m. In addition, the workshop manager offers us to spend the night on his premises. While Zuhlo is being worked on all day, with painting and sanding, we will spend our time playing, reading, and listening to music. In the meantime, we will go back to town to buy a few things. To our surprise, a staff member comes by and invites us to have a chilled and delicious after-work beer with the manager and other employees: "Since there are Germans here, we should celebrate it too!" (Phillip, manager). We were very surprised by this warm hospitality, not least because he offers to leave the office with a toilet and kitchen open overnight. We did not expect such trust towards strangers and were all the more happy about it.
