With full confidence, we started driving east through Quebec. By chance, we came across a beautiful coastal route and enjoyed the sound of the waves every evening.
Arriving in the last province, Nova Scotia, we were unexpectedly hit by a hurricane in the night! Luckily, we didn't know about it beforehand and thought it was just a strong storm. Full of fear that the bus would tip over, we positioned ourselves next to a house wall and waited with eyes wide open for the next morning. When we wanted to buy water in the morning, we felt like we were in a ghost town. There were branches, trees, and traffic lights everywhere. The whole area was without power and some houses were underwater. Due to the power outage, there was also no diesel and so we were stuck in the city for 3 days with a blackout. A creepy experience!
We spent the last weeks cleaning and relaxing.
When we parked the bus in the port of Halifax, we were full of anticipation for the next stage of the trip!
