Mauritius!
Lush greenery, vibrant colored flowers, rainforest, tropical humid heat, occasional heavy rain showers, turquoise ocean, blue sky, friendly people, palm trees, beautiful beaches, clear water, no waves.
For the first week, we are at the beach in Belle Mare. We need to get used to the humid heat. In Namibia and South Africa, the air was hot and dry.
Even when doing nothing, everything sticks to the skin. But there is plenty of water to jump into!
Maxima is learning to snorkel in the pool and swims across the pool like a shark, which looks pretty funny. Once she gets the hang of it, the premiere in the ocean!!!! Maxima enjoys the little colorful fish, and Lio feeds the fish with bread for her. Then Lio also wants to jump into the ocean, but shortly after, he screams loudly and Konstantin wipes a jellyfish off his shoulder. It hurts and burns! Luckily, only for a few minutes. After that, he sleeps peacefully and everything is fine again.
In the evenings, we always look forward to breakfast because there are always (lots of) pancakes!
There is a kids club, but only English and French are spoken there, and no German children around (because it is not school vacation). But then we meet Cecilia and Lucia, two German girls who live in Finland. 10 and 13 years old already, but the girls have a lot of fun together, especially in the pool.
And in the kids club while baking pizza and decorating T-shirts!
And we moms enjoy some girl talk.
Maxima in between: "I think I'm dreaming that I'm here (while I'm actually in Hannover)"
