Beuren - Day 33 and 35

We spent the last days of our trip in the spa and wellness resort of Beuren in the Esslingen district at the edge of the Swabian Jura in Baden-Württemberg.

We had a lovely pitch at the Panorama Therme.

Beuren was first documented in 1304, making it quite an old place, located along the Württemberg Wine Route, which passes many attractions.

To this day, Beuren has preserved a homogeneous village appearance in the old town center, reflecting the peak of the village in the 15th and 16th centuries. There are still a number of valuable old timber-framed houses. A total of 70 historical buildings are protected in the town center of Beuren.

In the middle of the historical town center stands the late Gothic St. Nicholas Church, built in the 15th century on the site of a Romanesque chapel.

Another dominant cultural monument in Beuren is the town hall opposite the church, built in 1556, which was erected during the village's heyday.

The Naked Bather Fountain in Beuren symbolizes the Panorama Therme. The sculpture group commemorates the approximately 500-year history of bathing culture in the village.

One day we visited the Beuren Open Air Museum and also explored the Hohenneuffen Castle ruins. More about that in separate articles.

But as always, every vacation comes to an end, and as it became evident that the weather was becoming quite volatile, we arrived back home a few days earlier than planned.

Overall, however, we had 5 wonderful weeks during which we saw a lot.
