...after anchoring in Calvi for three nights, Captain Wim was eager to set sail and instructed his crew to hoist the sails. The wind carried us 40km down the west coast towards the south. 'Á Porto par la côte!' boasted our route. As it turned out, it was another piece of Corsican road engineering! The winding road offered an indescribable view of the Mediterranean and stunning coves that kept appearing. For our safety, the narrow road (on which we were driving) was secured by a knee-high, sturdy wall on the cliff side. The sheer joy of driving was experienced when another motorhome would spontaneously appear behind the next curve, coming in the opposite direction, also with half of their vehicle on the opposite lane. It worked, and I am completely convinced that Captain Wim's schooner gave me an entirely new driving experience. By the way, Captain Wim slept through the entire journey. The panoramic view behind his darkened window couldn't even coax a sleepy blink...
The goal of our journey was the Fango River Delta. After enjoying some delicious baguette and exploring the delta, we followed the river uphill and are now anchored on a parking lot overlooking the river! The captain is resting and dreaming of new horizons!
