Today we stayed in the harbor because we thought it would be difficult to find a berth in another harbor due to midsummer celebrations.
In the morning, the three of us walked to a museum. Unfortunately, I didn't look at the map closely enough beforehand, and after 3 kilometers in a not-so-nice area, we turned back. But on the way back, we found a mountain with an old bunker facility. Of course, we took a look at it.
Then back to the ship, set up the bikes, and without Paula, we found the right way to the museum. It was closed :-(. But the really awesome thing about the museum was accessible, namely a nature reserve on the world's largest mussel bank. Beautiful paths up and down the hill, with a few cows in the middle.
Then we returned by bike, and then drama at the pier:
I had to go to the toilet right away, which is opposite the ship. When I came out, Klaus was still outside, but he had only one bike with him. Just before, both bikes were on the pier. A gust of wind threw his bike into the sea! Klaus wanted to go after it and hold it, but he overlooked the rope that he himself had attached across the pier. He fell flat on his face, but luckily he still had his helmet on. Otherwise it would have been really bad! Then we went in search of the bike with 2 ropes and a dragger (which he has had on the ship for 20 years and never knew what to do with it). Klaus actually hooked it after some time and fished it out again.
After the excitement and with the wind, Klaus didn't feel like cycling anymore. The so-called midsummer party at the museum opposite the ship was a boring affair, so we wanted to go to the town of Gustafsberg, the oldest seaside resort in Sweden. I went by bike, Klaus and Paula by dinghy.
After about 3 km, I waited for them at a harbor because I thought it wouldn't be very pleasant for them in the wind and the waves. And that was the case, both of them were completely wet. So we all went back to the ship.
Then it started raining. So, first of all, read a book. When it was dry again, we went into town to see if we could find a restaurant. Everything was closed! Worse than Christmas in Germany!
So, back to the ship and cook ourselves. Luckily, we went shopping yesterday 😀.
