Here we are again, after spending the whole day in the car yesterday, we just quickly had something to eat in the evening and then fell into bed. Since there was still a state of emergency in Las Vegas, it wasn't that bad. Even though everything seems back to normal now, the mourning and especially the shock are palpable everywhere. Our hotel is right across from the square and the hotel where the attack happened. In the hotel itself, you can see the broken windows on the 36th floor and everything around it is still cordoned off.
We were at Red Rock Canyon National Park early this morning (the little Grand Canyon), the locals always advised against visiting the Grand Canyon itself and it would also exceed our time frame. Red Rock was absolutely worth seeing and not crowded at all, so you even have some corners to yourself after a few climbing sessions. Here, too, you would have to drive through by car and then stop here and there to take a walk in the landscape.
That was the last tour with our great Toyota, then it went back to the car rental center and we spent the rest of the afternoon at the pool.
Tonight, we went to the Las Vegas Strip to see the whole spectacle at night. Our hotel is only a 5-minute walk away. After dinner, we got sucked into the giant MGM Grand casino, unfortunately the big win is still pending but we still have a few days to go :)
Best regards!
