Today was a relaxing day. Since we came home late yesterday and it was pouring rain all day, we decided to have a Netflix day and cooking night after exploring the huge supermarket around the corner in the afternoon. It's incredible how many different fruits there are here, some of which I have never seen before. Everything is super cheap, so we stuff our bags with all sorts of stuff. But the most important thing was to find a spreadable bread topping for breakfast. Because for breakfast here we have milk rolls with condensed milk - an ultra sweet stuff that will eventually make our teeth rotten. Or give us diabetes. Probably both. Unfortunately, we had to realize that our beloved Nutella is unaffordable here, so we had to resort to a generic brand that is about as expensive as a 750g jar of Nutella in Germany. Whether I'll survive this, we'll see tomorrow.
Today's lesson learned: Even in paradise, you sometimes have to take a siesta.
PS: by the way, the person in today's picture is Maike, without whom I would have been lost here. I feel super comfortable with her family and would love to stay here, but that probably won't work because they don't have a room for me. But for now, I'll stay here until Tuesday. Bruno, Maike's host, has found accommodation for me with a friend and if everything goes well, I can live there for the next 6 weeks.💪🏻 On Thursday, we start with our project and we are very excited to see what awaits us there.
