After 18 hours and 16 minutes, I finally landed in Florianópolis. At the same time, another German girl arrived, with whom I was supposed to spend the day. Contrary to my expectations, I didn't go straight to my host family, but instead went all over Florianópolis with the mother of an AIESEC employee who had the day off and apparently had nothing better to do than drive two German girls around the city. The long-awaited shower was now a distant dream. However, I didn't know how far away it was at that time.
Although I wasn't really in the mood for sightseeing after an 18-hour flight, the day was still quite eventful. Today, I met Cruella de Ville's dog (lovingly called Brigitte - pronounced in French) and realized that this dog is even uglier in real life than in the movie. On the other hand, he obviously liked me very much, as he sat on my lap for the entire ride and emitted even more warmth in addition to the 29 degrees Celsius. Sweating and half-starved, we finally stopped to treat ourselves to an acai ice cream - the helper in every situation, at least that's what our driver called it. And she wasn't entirely wrong. Feeling a little cooler, we were then thrown into the cold water and had to take the bus all the way back to the office - not an easy task for non-locals. After two hours in the overly air-conditioned bus, we finally reached our destination - only to be told that I wouldn't be able to take my much-longed-for shower until midnight, when my host family would be back in the city. #24hourawake 💪🏻 Jackpot. I have to say, I was about to cry, but I've made a firm decision not to cry on the first day 🙈😅 So I'm still sitting in a bar, waiting for my taxi to take me to my bed, wherever it may be. Today's lesson learned: Keep calm and eat acai. #açaíéamor✌🏻♥️
