In the morning, we set off to Ollantaytambo by minibus. The two-hour drive took us through winding roads, first through the outskirts of Cusco. Here are the shantytowns. Sheet metal huts, half-finished buildings, no paved roads, lots of garbage, and many dogs.
Then we pass through green mountains with snow-capped peaks in the background.
Ollantaytambo is a very touristy place, with beautiful Inca ruins that already prepare us for Machu Picchu.
We enjoyed a delicious lunch, this time with traditional guinea pig, alpaca steak, and spaghetti bolognese. 😂 Alpaca definitely tastes better than guinea pig. 😋
Then we bought some souvenirs.
Among other things, a traditional hat for Milo. 😂😂😂
Then we continued with the evening train to Aguas Calientes. The place that is right next to Machu Picchu.
