After Milo practiced German and math diligently in the morning, we took the city bus to La Carolina Park. It is located in the north of Quito and is the largest park in the city. Our plan was to play some soccer in the park and then visit the botanical garden, which is also located in this park. Today is All Saints' Day and it is a holiday in Catholic Ecuador, so there was a huge crowd here. The park is incredibly well-equipped with sports facilities. One soccer field after another, basketball and volleyball courts as well. And all in top condition. And easily accessible to the public. A dream for young soccer players. 😁 However, today all the fields were occupied by adults and teenagers.
It's a holiday and everyone is outside in Quito. Sports seems to be very popular here. After we kicked the ball on a meadow for a while, we asked a boy who was also playing soccer with his father if he would like to play with Milo. He agreed and they played together at first, then two other boys joined in. They played for a long time. 🙄
We got along well with the family of the boy, whose name is Mathias by the way. At least when it comes to sympathy. Once again, it was a challenge for me in terms of language 😳. We then ate something delicious at one of the many stalls.
