One day in Bangkok

Pubblicato: 27.03.2023

Day 20 (26.03.2023)

Our morning started with a strength training session. We pushed the check-out time until 12 pm and then left the hostel. The day before, we had spotted a temple complex located centrally in the city, which looked impressive from the outside. Today, we wanted to explore it from the inside as well. The Wat Pho temple complex is famous for its giant reclining Buddha, which stretches over 46 meters. But the rest of the complex is also adorned with many individual temples and magnificent architecture. Since knees and shoulders must be covered in the temples, we wore long clothing and regretted it rather quickly.

After visiting the temple, we went back to the hostel to drop off the long clothing and freshen up.

Then we treated ourselves to a one-hour Thai massage. It felt really good. The Asian masseuses worked on our entire body with their whole body. They massaged with their feet, hands, elbows, and more. For €7 an hour, you can't complain.

We still had some time before our departure to Chiang Mai after the massage. So we first went to get something to eat and then sat down in a restaurant where we played chess (Ann-Sophie's first chess game).

Our night bus from Bangkok to Chiang Mai departed at 8:35 pm. The journey was much more comfortable and pleasant than the overnight train, so we started the night with a much better feeling.
