Good evening,
today our day started quite early again. Our alarm clock rang at 6:25 am because our excursion started at 7:30 am. After turning off the alarm clock, Mareike and I closed our eyes for another 5 minutes, but 5 minutes turned into 35 minutes 😳😅. As a result, we only had half an hour to get ready and have breakfast. Smart as we are, we already packed our bags for today's day yesterday, which means we only had to change quickly and go to the bathroom. Mareike and I were ready to go at 7:30 am sharp, and we even managed to have breakfast. So for us, it was a pretty stressful morning from which we conclude that one alarm clock is not enough! 😅
With a 10-minute delay, we headed to the first of the three places we were planning to visit today. After a good hour's drive, we reached the largest temple in Bali, the Buddha Temple. A truly impressive structure with a lot of attention to detail and one of the few places here in Bali that I have seen so far, which is clean and tidy.
After the Buddha Temple, we went to the Holy Hot Springs, which are 3 kilometers away, the second of the three destinations today. The Holy Hot Springs are warm to hot water springs in the middle of the jungle where you can bathe.
After that, for me personally, it was the highlight of the day and also the third and last destination today, the Sekumpul Waterfall. We were driven by our drivers to a parking lot where they were already waiting for us. We were warmly welcomed. After a 10-minute walk, we had a meal at a small restaurant to get some energy, because as it turned out later, we needed it. Unaware, we went with the tour group to the waterfall - 45 minutes! The path there was quite challenging. Steep stairs, half-meter high steps, the path only 2 meters wide, constant ups and downs, locals driving up and down on motorbikes, all of it while wearing flip-flops 😂. The way down to the waterfall was fine, but you really had to concentrate to not trip 😅. Once we arrived at the bottom, a natural beauty was waiting for us, I was amazed and speechless! It was just ... WOW!🤩 After about 1 1/2 hours, it was time to return, and if I'm honest, I was dreading the thought of having to climb back up the path in over 30 degrees. Once we reached the top, I was exhausted, it was probably the most challenging workout I have ever done in my life. 😅
At 5 pm, our excursion came to an end and Mareike, I, and the other members of the tour group were brought back to our accommodation.
At 6 pm, we participated in a Balinese cooking class with the whole tour group. We cooked a vegetable soup, fried rice, and grilled chicken. After dinner, everyone played a round of UNO and chatted until dinner was ready. After dinner, there was a karaoke night where we also participated.
Shortly after, we went to our room, packed our bags, and went to bed. Tomorrow morning, we will depart here at 8:00 am.
With that said, good night and greetings from Bali!
Your Jojo 🙈
P.S. Today, the Wi-Fi at the accommodation is still not better, so I will upload the pictures that go along with the post when I have better internet!
