Today our day started at 7 o'clock with a simple and calorie-rich breakfast at the hotel before we started.
Our first stop on this early morning was San Diego Old Town. There we visited the Presidio Park, the Victorian houses in Heritage Park, and the Old Town Historic Park! Unfortunately, it didn't open until 10 o'clock, so we didn't experience much of the atmosphere.
Afterwards, we continued to San Diego Downtown. We visited the USS Midway there. A really great museum of the US Navy. The $20 admission fee was definitely worth it.
4 hours later, after a short visit to Seaport Village, we continued with a 2-hour boat tour. It was beautiful and we had a great view of the skyline of San Diego.
The sun was scorching, so we all ended up with a sunburn.
After the relaxing boat tour, we walked several kilometers through San Diego Downtown and the Gaslamp Quarter.
We made a short detour to Horton Plaza Mall. There we exchanged Euros for Dollars at a rate that we couldn't believe!
The exchange rate was worse than in Germany, so we received less Dollars than we paid in Euros. Outrageous!
But we had no other choice since we didn't see any other exchange office. So we bit the bullet and exchanged Euros for Dollars.
After an exhausting but beautiful day, we briefly returned to the hotel before heading to Fish Market Restaurant for dinner.
At first, we had difficulties with the parking situation, but finally we got in and after a short wait, we got a table with a view of the sea!
It wasn't easy to find food for Marcel since he doesn't like fish! But thankfully we found something, namely chicken with fries ;)
After dinner, we were planning to go to the rooftop bar at the Marriott Hotel, but we were all tired and the alarm clock was set for 5 o'clock, so we went to the hotel instead.
It was a long, exhausting, but beautiful day in the end. Tomorrow we will continue to Joshua Tree National Park and then to Lake Havasu City!
