We are leaving Quiberon and Brittany today.
Scenically, Quiberon is a great peninsula with cliffs, endless sandy beaches, but also a bit run-down and neglected. We continue south towards the Pays de la Loire region.
We drive through the Briere Nature Park.
Somehow a bit like the Everglades in Florida, but without crocodiles 🐊
The park is crisscrossed with canals and swamps.
We continue through St. Nazire towards Notre Dame de Monts. We found a small campsite behind pine forests here, which is highly rated. The reception by Nicolas is very warm and once again contradicts our prejudice that the French are unfriendly.
Behind the pine forest and the dunes stretches an endless, empty sandy beach.
Even the restaurants and bars in the village have already opened, so we treat ourselves to a bottle in the beach bar.
There is definitely more life here than in Normandy and Brittany.
We decided to extend our stay at the La Parée Chalon campsite by one night.
