Bus trip to Punta Arenas
Today we take the bus again. This time we are going to Punta Arenas and it will only take 3 hours. The buses here are very clean and comfortable.
The weather on the trip keeps changing between sunshine and blue sky or clouds and rain. We arrive in Punta Arenas in good weather. Unfortunately, the taxi driver can't make sense of the address from the pier. It starts snowing 🌨 and it's freezing cold. We ask another taxi driver who thankfully can help us and takes us to the pier. We drop off our luggage and still have enough time to explore the place.
Boarding is at 6 p.m. The cabin is great, with huge windows and everything else you need.
The luggage is already in the cabin.
The whole ship makes a great impression and we find out that it is only 2 years old.
There are 3 different lounges and the dining room.
Normally, the boat can accommodate 200 passengers, but we're lucky and there are only about 120 guests on board.
There are 70 staff members. So, one employee per 2 guests.
After being welcomed by the captain and a brief introduction for the next day, we head to dinner. We sit at a table with Australians and French people. There are a total of 16 nationalities on board. The food is fantastic. Every evening there is a 4-course menu and it seems to be really good.
Since the bar is closed, we go to bed early and rock ourselves to sleep, full of expectations for tomorrow.
(By the way, the bar wasn't closed, it opened 10 minutes later.....oops)🤪
Unfortunately, I can't upload any photos here...they will follow later😊
