After a long walk in the National Park, we headed to Nelson. To take a break, we stayed at the closest caravan park for two nights. Since we are now 'Top 10 members', we receive a 10% discount and usually 1 GB of data to surf the internet at the corresponding places. We parked the camper, put on flip flops, and walked into town to visit the popular Saturday market. Unfortunately, we didn't find anything, but we wanted to support the local economy, so we found a cozy spot in the pedestrian zone and enjoyed the delicacies at the wine bar. On Sunday, there was a Santa Parade. Of course, we couldn't miss it, so we stood with the locals on the sidewalk. It looked more like a promotional parade for TripAdvisor activities, but it was still great to watch. And... in the end, the float with Santa came.
Still hungry for 18 holes, the next morning we headed to the public golf course. A wonderful round in the midday sun with no people around and a few pars, we continued on to Picton, where the ferry took us to the North Island on Tuesday morning (thanks to the attentive reader 😀).
