Yes, you read correctly. In England, there is Pancake Day!!! Also known as Shrove Tuesday. This is the day before Ash Wednesday, the beginning of the fasting period. On this day (according to tradition), people eat all the good stuff so that during the fasting period they only have bread and a little vegetables (at least in the past).
For this occasion, pancakes are baked everywhere in the country, including with us ^^
At noon, I was at the museum in Abingdon with another au pair and all of our kids. There was a children's arts and crafts event. Everything was about 'The Green Man'. If I understood correctly, he was a prince who, for some reason, ran away into the forest, undressed and covered himself in mud to blend in with the trees. There are many pictures of him where, if you look closely, you can see a face.
Can you recognize the faces in the models made by the kids? 😉
