On Friday we left Wyoming and arrived in Colorado. Just before the state border, we visited another Visitor Center. Here, an original mammoth skeleton was on display. And we were able to sit with Billy the Kid in jail.
After that, we continued to Denver. We parked the car at Larimer Square. There were small cats everywhere, and as we walked through a passage, we heard loud meows coming from a speaker. Why? No idea!
Then, we walked from Downtown Denver to the Capitol. We were a mile above sea level on the 13th step.
We had dinner at Denver's oldest restaurant, Buckhorn. I had venison and buffalo (bison). But I have to say, I think they could have done more with the meat. Overall, the ambiance was really nice (with all kinds of stuffed animals on the wall and pictures from earlier times and celebrities who had been there), but the prices were exaggerated for what we got.
For the night, we drove up to the mountains to Estes Park.
