Hey guys
Today our alarm clock went off at 6:30 am: Divinggggg!
To be honest, we would have preferred to stay in bed, but oh well. Out of bed.
We quickly had breakfast and went to the front of our hotel as agreed. About 5 minutes later we were already picked up and another diver was already in the car. With one or two more guests loaded, we set off for the harbor. Man oh man, he drove like a maniac! We were all grateful when we reached our destination without any accidents...
We went straight to the boat and soon noticed that this was not going to be a dive trip like we were used to. Usually you meet briefly at the dive center, get everything ready, put your stuff on a small boat, and off you go. Two dives = maximum 1/2 day.
But this boat was huge for a dive boat! We waited an hour in the harbor and the boat kept filling up. Snorkelers, divers, beginner divers who had booked courses... Each group had their own area on the boat: snorkelers and bathers on the upper two decks, dive students in the lower deck, and certified divers at the front of the bow. When the boat set off, we received the usual dive briefing and the group division was announced. After about 45 minutes of driving, we reached the dive site. There we had to wait a bit until it was our group's turn and off we went into the water. The first dive was... well... boring... We also had two dive students with us, which made the group way too big. We maybe saw two or three fish and swam through a "swim through" (accumulation of stones that are positioned to form a diveable tunnel), which was barely a meter long...
After the dive, the whole group agreed: what a waste of everything.
Then came the second dive. That was much more to our liking: several "swim throughs" in a row and a small cave. One person in our group started experiencing regulator issues and the only one who noticed and immediately helped was Kevin. For the diver with the malfunctioning equipment, the dive had to be aborted. We continued diving and goofed around a lot underwater. The guide had to laugh at us a lot :)).
On the way back, we found a fish cage. When the others were around the corner, we freed the animals and continued swimming as if nothing had happened :D.
Back on board, we suddenly hit the jackpot: we were taken to the shore with a small boat and from there Maria (our guide) drove us directly to the hotel. She promised us that tomorrow would be much better and the groups would be much smaller. We are curious about that :).
At the hotel, we ate something and sat on our balcony in the shade :)).
Later, we had dinner and after a few hours on the balcony, the Sandman called already :).
So, see you tomorrow!
