Hi guys,
Today is Sunday again, which means that the whole island gathers at the beach. For us, it was clear: that's not for us. The place that was so calm last night was teeming with crowds and beach umbrellas lined up on the beach.
Let's go! We found a nearby motorhome service station, which we headed to right away. As we stood there filling up with water, suddenly two police motorcycles with flashing lights came down the street. Then, we could hardly believe our eyes: a huge convoy of motorcycles! Everything with two wheels and a motor seemed to have joined in - from the Vespa to the Enduro to the Harley! We had a great time watching the event and immediately took out our cameras. The riders reacted to that :)
Honking, waving, throttle cables were pulled to the limit, and wheelies were performed. It was great fun to watch :).
When the last motorcycle had passed, we continued on. But not far :)
Just two intersections later, the street was briefly closed off with motorcycles and the same convoy passed us again. Some seemed to recognize us again and waved with a big smile on their faces.
Now we finally moved on. We arrived at a dreamy beach with white sand. But: soooo many people! So there was a change of plans. Away from the sand and off to a rocky bay.
On the way, we saw a huge field of sand - in the middle of the land :). Of course, we had to take a look at that. After a few photos, we drove to our chosen spot.
Jackpot! We're staying here! No one around, an incredible view, and we can also get down to the water :).
After a delicious lunch, we couldn't resist: unpacking the diving equipment, assembling the gear, and off into the cool water. The access was not as easy as expected, but still manageable. We stayed underwater for an hour and explored our spot from a different perspective. It was really great! Not a lot of fish, but enough to always have some in front of the mask. We also saw three pufferfish - they are sooooo cute with their round eyes :).
Later, we packed up our equipment and walked along the coast for about 20 minutes to a really nice restaurant. The path was rocky, but it was worth it! We had delicious pizza, right by the sea :).
So, now we're finally putting our feet up and relaxing in the camper :).
See you tomorrow!
