D-Day+1: 2 idiots in the city

Pubblicato: 05.09.2017

When we woke up today, we were naturally motivated to start our work and travel year. We wanted to create bank accounts, so we headed towards the city. However, the city is quite far away, so we needed to take the train. To do that, we had to get a so-called Myki card, which allows us to easily use the train, tram, and bus. Eventually, we found a bank in the city and were hopeful to create an account. Unfortunately, we were missing something that was still in our accommodation. That meant we had to go all the way back, which took about an hour. We grabbed what we needed and set off again. This time, we wanted to take the train, hoping it would be faster than the tram. We were on the train, but we got off at a different stop than in the morning. So, being the navigation talents that we are, we had the task of finding our way back to the bank, and we were under time pressure because it would soon close. Of course, we arrived too late. The reason for that was a few unnecessary detours. When we finally arrived at the bank, we were told that we needed one more thing, which we naturally didn't have. So, we went to the city library and printed it out there. By this time, it was already dark outside and pouring rain. We started heading home, but we managed to get off at the wrong station. It wasn't a big deal, though, and soon we were home. There, we were served bean stew with "kangaroo pie," which was quite tasty. All in all, you can say that we saw a lot of Melbourne on this day.
