- 3rd day at sea out of 5 days of crossing (but actually the 5th day at sea overall)
7:30 AM: Frank is running, and I'm getting up very slowly....
Today, I attended the captain's lecture and Q&A session - it was really fun!
But also informative:
- The ship weighs 51,000 tons
- Draft of 8.10 meters
- Bulbous bow of 12 meters (that's the front nose of the ship - used to ram enemies in the past)
- Hydronamics = Aerodynamics
- PROPELLERS 6 meters in diameter / 16 tons in weight
- The ship sails through the Atlantic with 65,300 horsepower
- Fuel consumption of 80-85 tons per day - could sail for
3 weeks with that amount!!
- There's a desalination plant on board for producing drinking water
Other than that, we didn't do anything and didn't sleep.
In the evening, there was a big mountain party - half of the total distance has been completed.
Schlager party!!! With an amazing buffet of lobster, crab, giant shrimp, and ice sculptures - incredible!
The picture in the middle is the captain!!!
