After a detour to Segesta, I made my way back.
I made the detour with a private plane over Greece :-)
No, just kidding..there are temples here - better than in all of Greece, see for yourself:
And that was also combined with a nice hike, although I left my hiking shoes at home...the Elymians (never heard of them!) copied from the Greeks, so it was also there earlier...
Back in Balestrate, after a coffee snack, there was a rich menu with tomatoes, pesto, capers, olives baked with plenty of Peccorino, accompanied by a good glass of Sicilian red wine. When there is room in the stomach again, Gorgonzola with mini pears follows.
My conclusion after the 1st day in Sicily: I like the country! It's very windy (definitely bring 3 weatherproof jackets), but sunny and not cold. The locals are friendly and patient, and you can practice your Italian perfectly. The food is great, you can get fantastic delicacies everywhere, but you can also take care of yourself.
The roads are very good and the signage follows German logic, the motorway is toll-free.
In Villa Velez, I am the only guest. I enjoy the peace and quiet in the really beautiful surroundings and can, for example, go outside in my pajamas in the morning and take pictures :-)
Today I took it easy and didn't make it to Marsala. That will probably be tomorrow :-)
