A day in Nanjing

Last Wednesday, I caught the travel bug. After three weekends in Suzhou, I wanted to go out and see something different. Our to-see-list is still quite long, so the destination was quickly decided: Nanjing.
So we quickly booked train tickets and off we went. This early wake-up call was sweetened by a beautiful sunrise...

Number 1 on our list in Nanjing was the Qi Xia Mountain, famous for its colorful maple leaves in the fall. However, we were not the only ones who had this idea...
For us, it is still something to get used to that the attractions are quite commercialized. On the mountain, for example, all paths were paved, no dirt roads in sight, but at least there was a McDonald's!
Number 2 on the list was the city wall, which Nördlingen can definitely learn from! The city wall in Nanjing is definitely not a small wall, with a total length of 35km, a width of 10m at the top, and a height of 20m.
After a short walk on the wall, we slowly headed back home.

We definitely want to go back here!
