Westport - Tag2; unplanned extension

This morning we got up, packed, had breakfast and then found out that we can't continue as planned today. The next stop is Lake Mahinapua and then we were supposed to go to Franz Josef.

However, the road to Franz Josef is closed due to storm damage, so fewer people are leaving Mahinapua than planned and we wouldn't have gotten a place to sleep today. It is also unclear whether the road will be reopened in time and whether we will get to see the glaciers of Franz Josef or if we have to bypass them and go straight to Wanaka.

Today was therefore a relaxed day where we read a lot and took a walk to the small harbor. The weather, which is still very cloudy and rainy, didn't allow for much else.
