Yesterday, we boarded the Kiwi bus for the last time. Our journey to Christchurch, our last stop in New Zealand, was relatively uneventful and the passing landscape was less vibrant than usual due to the rain.
Upon arriving in the city, we checked into a large, sunlit room in a beautiful, small hostel. We spent the rest of our first day reading, as there wasn't much else to do in the weather.
Today, we slept in and went on a city exploration after a pancake breakfast. I almost feel at home in Karlsruhe. There are construction sites everywhere in Christchurch...
We enjoyed our Ben'n'Jerry's in one of the parks, strolled through the Cathedral Square and visited the ChristChurch Cathedral, which was partially destroyed in an earthquake. Then we visited the Botanic Garden and tried our luck on the sparse shopping street.
Back at the hostel, we made spaetzle dough in a pot with a fork and Leo scraped our cheese spaetzle with a board and knife.
After this homey meal, we can only sleep well now.
Have a nice day at home 😊
