Between the High Atlas and the Anti-Atlas lies a plateau. The High Atlas appears brown from a distance, while the Anti-Atlas appears gray. We choose another off-road tour.
But first, we stock up on alcohol in Tinghir, which is hard to find in Morocco. According to Lonely Planet, there is only one store in this city that sells alcohol. We enter the very neat store, not particularly big, and quickly notice that the desired shelf is missing... We look for what else we need and boldly ask for alcohol at the cash register. The salesman waves us, leads us through two doors and a corridor into a back room, and hooray, we buy wine and beer!
In the Anti-Atlas, it is even more barren, so there are also fewer locals. We find a spot on a hill with a breathtaking panoramic view, set up camp for the first time 'wild', and enjoy it completely. We make kites, fly them, eat during the dreamlike sunset (with a glass of wine), and actually don't want to go any further... we are free here, we feel comfortable here, this is what we imagine van life to be like!
And yet, the next day we are drawn further, the desert Erg Chebbi is calling.
